Artist Residency
The bell hooks center hosts a notable feminist artist each spring semester for a week-long residency. Invited artists deliver a campus-wide talk and facilitate a workshop where Berea College students, faculty, and staff can learn practical skills for expressing feminism through art and aesthetic practice. Invited artists also spend time in bell hooks’s archives and visit with Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies classes while on campus. Previous bell hooks center artists-in-residence include Rosy Petri, Chanell Stone, and N.E. Brown.
